KUALA LUMPUR: The naked woman ordered to perform ear squats at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters lock-up testified before the Independent Commission today.
The 22-year-old woman, a Malay, told the panel that she was arrested at 1am on June 29 at Damansara Jaya for possession of syabu. She was with her husband and four others when police detained them.
She had been charged at the Petaling Jaya court for possession of the drug.
The woman, who is three months pregnant, almost broke down while giving evidence to the commission.
She told the panel she first saw the MMS video clip when it was aired on the television news.
She said she could instantly recognise that she was the one who was featured in the MMS video clip that was shown on television.
“I was angry and ashamed over the incident,” she told the packed courtroom.
However, the woman said she was not aware that she was being filmed.
Earlier, the commission ordered the media not to name and publish the photograph of the woman.
“This is to respect her privacy and identity,” said Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin Abdullah, the head of the commission.
The inquiry is being heard at the Sultan Abdul Samad building, Kuala Lumpur.
