Place des Vosges - the oldest square in Paris
The Place des Vosges near Place de la Bastille (on the Boulevard Beaumarchais side) is in fact the oldest square in Paris, being built in the early 17th century. Victor Hugo lived at No. 6 there from 1832 to 1848. The accompanying square (Square Louis XIII) has become a favourite picnic spot among Parisians of all ages on a sunny day.
