  Youth hostels in Paris

New youth hostel in Paris since May 2013
New youth hostel in Paris at rue Pajol
A new youth hostel in Paris opened on 13 May 2013 at 20, rue Pajol. Turn left into rue Riquet on coming out from the Marx Dormoy metro station then turn right for rue Pajol. Locate it easily by looking for its solar roof panels. A bed in a dorm (with breakfast and bedsheet included) will cost about 30 euros.

Youth hostels, unlike budget hotels, are members of the non-profit International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF) also known as Hostelling International (the French name being FUAJ). They are easily recognised by the logo shown above (a building beside a pine tree).
Despite the word "youth" in its name there is no age limitation. Everyone is welcome to stay there as the IYHF constitution states that "there shall be no distinctions of race, nationality, colour, religion, sex, class or political opinions".
There are over 4,000 such hostels in 80 countries in Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe, Middle East as well as in North, Central and South America. Thus you can be sure of coming across people of all nations when you stay at such hostels.
