'Showcase Malaysia 2003' launched

NEW DELHI DEC. 28. Malaysia Airlines and Tourism Malaysia have jointly launched a special package called `Showcase Malaysia 2003'. It offers free stay for four days and three nights in the country for two persons on purchase of air tickets on Malaysia Airlines.
The package would be valid from January 5 to May 29, 2003. Festivals such as the ``Thaipussam'' and Chinese New Year fall during this period. It would be valid for any two passengers travelling together to Malaysia and/or beyond Malaysia during the promotion period. The free-stay offer would be on a twin-share basis and is inclusive of breakfast. For those travelling alone who would like to avail the package, a surcharge would be applicable. Tourists can choose from over 30 hotels and resorts around the country.
The special package comes with some value additions such as the Express Rail Link Services from the KL International Airport that transports passengers to the City Centre in just 28 minutes. This service offers special rates for adults and adults with children.
Special discounts would be offered to passengers visiting the KL Bird Park which is said to be Asia's largest covered bird park with over 3000 birds of various species.
The value additions include discounts of about 50 per cent for children's tickets and 30 per cent for adults. Those opting to stay at Genting with the purchase of the showcase package will get a free skyway ride, Ringitt 10 for Casino gaming voucher at the Show Boat. As part of the package, they will also get discounts in select outlets, entrance to discotheques, bowling and spa treatment at the theme park gift shop.
People travelling to Malaysia during this promotion period will be able to experience a variety of festivals and events. For sports enthusiasts, there would be Le Tour De langkawi in February and the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix in March.
While a mega sale carnival awaits shopping buffs in March, tourist events such as the water festival and Colours of Malaysia are held in April and May.
